Iv’e been working on designs for a cafe/bar concept. I really wanted to mix up the scheme and make the dining experience a more comfortable one, I think that when you feel comfortable in a eatery you are more likely to spend more time in the venue and spend more money!.
To create this interior in my opinion its about zoning the areas and creating moods with wall coverings and paint colours, I have been in so many cafe, restaurants and bars where the space has just been filled with chairs and tables and no thought has gone into the ambiance of the place, which is a real shame as this is key to making the business successful especially in these economic times. Design is so important and often this is not considered when starting this type of venture, I believe it’s more important now than it has ever been. People aren’t spending as much money so when they do go out, they want the experience to be the best it can be. This doesn’t mean you have to spend oodles of money, it may just be an initial couple of days for a designer to look at the overall concept and point you in the right direction, or a designer can also be very useful as they will have a great supplier base and you could buy through the designer and get the expertise with it.
Take a look at my mood boards, I love mixing colours and just because you choose one bright colour this doesn’t mean you have to stick with the one colour throughout the scheme, mixing colours creates a much more interesting and eclectic look.
